Todd R. Bell

Todd R. Bell graduated from U.B.C. Law School in 2007 and was called to the Bar in 2008. Todd has been with the firm for four years, having developed a keen interest in Family Law early on in Law School. Todd was the recipient of several scholarships during university, including the Bruce McColl Memorial Prize in Alternate Dispute Resolution as well as a Law Foundation Award for a paper he wrote on the Spousal Support Advisory Guidelines.

Todd provides regular pro-bono family law advice through volunteer efforts with Access to Justice and has been a contributor to both CLE conferences and CBA Family Law Subsection Meetings; he will present at the CLE Family Law Boot Camp in October 2010. Todd appears frequently in Court at both the Provincial and Supreme Court levels and has argued before the Court of Appeal. He has conducted multiple trials at the Supreme Court level as both lead and co-counsel, including Silverman v. Silverman 2009 BCSC 1349 and Haigh v. Spence 2010 BCSC 270; in both his clients were successful at trial including on the issue of costs.

Todd is a member of good standing of the Canadian Bar Association and Law Society of British Columbia.

In his spare time, Todd does long haul canoe trips, having done several hundred kilometers each in Ontario, the Yukon, British Columbia and northern Saskatchewan.
